What I Learned from the Cat

THE INTERLOPER
After 31 years of marriage, I have discovered the key to getting to converse more with my husband.  I was in the living room the other day and heard him talking in the game room.

"Were you talking to me, dear?" I asked.

"No, I was talking to the cat."

"You talk to the cat more than to me!"

"She sits in my lap more."

O treachery!  This is sad but absolutely true!  She sits in his lap and purrs and pops up every few minutes and kisses his face, making contented little happy kittycat sounds.  He pets her and talks to her even though she is interrupting the TV news!

So there you have it, ladies.  Make your move and reap the benefits.  And don't forget to purr.

That's hilarious! ;) You'll have to let us know how that works out for you!

Dear trent13,

Certainly, I will let my readers know how this goes. It ought to be interesting. I've already practiced my purring this morning. That went exceedingly well. My only concern is the vast difference between the cat's weight, 8 lbs., and mine, _ _ _.

:D Just kidding.

Kristyn--Lucky girl! You don't have to share!

That is so funny!
My husband speaks for our dog and sometimes that gets him into trouble because he thinks he can say anything because...well..."the dog said it, not me!"

I just read this aloud to Mom, and we both laughed! We're wondering if it'll work with my dad; we're not sure if he'd even talk to the cat much if we had one! :D

Hi Marin!

I think your dad would certainly play along; he's so funny. I'm so glad I was able to make you and your mom laugh.

We miss you too and would love to get together. Let's plan on it!
