Can You Honor Hispanic Culture While Ignoring the Role of the Catholic Church?

The Atascocita Branch of the Harris County Library thinks so. When I stopped by last week, they had a display set up with quite a number of books for children as well as adults. I studied each cover and didn't find one that had anything to do with the Church's influence. I thought at the very least they would have Tomie de Paolo's children's book on Our Lady of Guadalupe, but no.

They are starting to focus on the "Indian"side than on the "Spanish" Catholic side..:\

Maybe so, Ali! I wish I had taken a picture of the book display. Then I could look up the titles and see if I could understand the focus. The books were in a glass display case, so I couldn't flip through them.
