We got tired of eggs, and with the cooler weather we started hankering for oatmeal. Mine turns out differently every time, because I always throw in whatever appeals to me at the moment. This time it was raisins, applesauce, cinnamon, and chopped pecans toasted in butter. I cooked this concoction in whole milk and served it with fresh cream. I got this idea from Emma, who has been eating applesauce mixed with cream. I think she'd eat just about anything if she could mix it with cream.
