Virtual Girlfriend or Traditional Wife?

The Virtual Girlfriend
I was looking through the options for blog "gadgets" and stumbled across this description for one called "Virtual Girlfriend":

Want a girlfriend who will cook/bake for you? A girlfriend who is very understanding and will admire everything about you and what you do? A girlfriend who is ready to kiss you anytime? A girlfriend who will take care of you when you are not feeling well? Get your virtual girlfriend now...a pretty, sexy girl who would love you no matter what; dream girl; ideal woman; cool gadget especially for love, romance blogs and sites.

I read it aloud to Emma, and we both had a good laugh.  It's funny that education, career, and money-making potential were not mentioned among this dream girl/ideal woman's attributes.  Gee, do men just want to be loved, encouraged, and cared for?  What's the matter with them anyway?

I don't think it's that hard to find a real woman with Virtual Girlfriend's attributes.  The key is, she will want to be a wife, not a girlfriend.

It is very disheartening to see that men are so desperate as to have an object of a computer as a love toy.
This "virtual girlfriend" could actually decrease his chances for finding a real girl because he would be always comparing her to "perfect robo-woman on the web."

You know, I never took it seriously enough to think it could be competition for any real woman. You would think that any man who would be so silly as to consider such a thing would be incapable of having a real relationship anyway. I don't know for sure, though. People take care of virtual pets nowadays, so I guess anything is possible.
