Raw Milk Cure 2012: Days 6 & 7

Re-hydrating the kefir grains that arrived today
I lost about a 1/2 pound yesterday.  My energy was good all day.  I drank 2 quarts of milk and one quart of water.  Before I went to bed, I had the thought that "Tomorrow I should not make coffee".  I thought that was strange, but this morning, Day 7, I got up and had no desire whatsoever for coffee or "quiet time" either.  I've had no headache even though it's now 3 p.m.  YAY!

Interestingly, today was the first day that I have had any weakness.  My legs felt weak this morning, and I wanted to drink milk right away.  Also, I was overcome by a strange urge to clean the louvers on my closet doors.  Hmm.  I finished a quart of milk before 10 a.m.  I have a feeling I may drink three quarts today. So far no queasiness.

Emma told me today that her tonsils have shrunk and are very soft.  Before we started the milk cure, they were chronically swollen.  She checks them regularly because she usually has tonsil stones.  Now, in addition to the tonsils being normal size, the tonsil stones are completely gone.

What are tonsil stones? I used to get something coming out of my tonsils before I had them out. It was sort of like sesame seeds, a chronic infection.

That sounds like tonsil stones, Kathy. Here is part of the Wikipedia entry: Tonsilloliths, also known as tonsil stones, are clusters of calcified material that form in the crevices of the tonsils.[1] While they occur most commonly in the palatine tonsils, they may also occur in the lingual tonsils.[1] Tonsilloliths have been recorded weighing from 300 mg to 42 g.[1] They are composed mostly of calcium, but may contain other minerals such as phosphorus and magnesium, as well as ammonia and carbonate.[1]

I am 37 and have had tonsil stones for the past 20 years. Healthy until my late teens and then started suffering from allergies and that is when the tonsil stones became a problem. I love dairy products and I live in Louisiana. Raw milk is illegal unless you literally own your own cow, but I was able to score some raw milk for a period of a few years about five years ago and then the government cracked down on that individual and they now pasteurize and sell at a local farmers market. I still drink their milk, but we are getting our very own milk cow next week. Almost 2 years ago I had a procedure done in Dallas for $2000 called a tonsil oblotomy. It's pretty much an in-office procedure where they resurface your tonsils with a laser. Tonsil stones are back...NOT HAPPY! So I googled raw milk and tonsil stones to see what info was out there on whether raw milk effects tonsil stones or if it is pasteurized dairy that is really the cause of everything?!?! I was happy to read this short but I did within this post on your experience. could you please elaborate?!

Unfortunately, Emma and I can't remember more details about her experience than what I posted. Pasteurized dairy can be inflammatory, so I am hopeful that raw milk will increase your health overall. Sorry I can't be of more help. Good luck with your new milk cow!
