A Dreamy Day of Trying on Wedding Dresses

Last year when Emma was taking a pattern drafting class, one of her homework assignments was to go to a bridal shop and try on wedding dresses.   Emma also had to sketch a wedding dress design.  Now this is the kind of homework a girl can love.  We had a fabulous time!

I thought my readers might enjoy these pictures.  They were taken by Kaley Palanjian, my niece.  She and her mom, my sister, Lisa, accompanied us to the bridal shops.  It was a great girl-fun day.

Love, love, love! Emma's so pretty! The dresses are so beautiful too! I seem to be obsessed with wedding dresses...I just can never get tired of looking at them. I especially love modest ones which are soooo hard to find (not that I've been looking too hard since I won't be getting one anytime soon).. But I must ask, where did y'all try on dresses? Thanks for posting the pics. They made my day! =)

Hi Jacquelyn,

Thanks for your sweet comment! You've made OUR day! Emma loves modest wedding dresses too, but we didn't find any in the stores. We have found some online. The pics are all from a David's Bridal store. There wasn't a single dress there with real sleeves. One of the pics shows her in a gown with some cap sleeves. We grabbed a jacket off an accessory rack for Emma to wear over the strapless gown. It looked like it was made for the dress. Good luck with your shopping.

Well, you already answered the question I was going to ask. I wish there had been jackets in the stores I went to when I was shopping. It would have widened my choice so much! As it was, I liked my dress, but my choice of it was more dictated by price and modesty than that I was totally in love with it. When Emma's ready to buy, I hope she finds a dress she can afford that she loves. She's going to be the most beautiful bride!

She is going to be a beautiful bride. The first photo was breathtaking. If you are interested in looking at another site, we have a bridal shop here that handles only modest dresses- I don't know about prices- but modesty is #1 with them. http://stlouis.craigslist.org/zip/2630775206.html

Oh I am so sorry about the link. I think I posted a 1940s sink! Oh, I know, it was a wedding registry idea for a farmhouse re-do!!!! Let me get the right address:

http://www.chatfieldsboutique.com/

It's Chatfield's Bridal Boutique but will come up under Modest Wedding Dresses!
