Doo, Doo, Doo. . .

I was watching the chickens and our two black Labs race back and forth in the front yard when all of a sudden. . .
A wondrous apparition, provided by magician.
Doo, doo, doo, lookin' out my win-dow

This old Creedence Clearwater Revival song came to mind the other day as I stood at my kitchen sink, washing dishes, daydreaming, and watching the ongoing animal parade.  The song is called "Lookin' Out My Back Door".  It was the perfect accompaniment because it has the fantabulous line: "Look at all the happy creatures dancing on the lawn."  I love it!    Here's a video and the lyrics:

Just got home from Illinois, lock the front door, oh boy!
Got to sit down, take a rest on the porch.
Imagination sets in, pretty soon I'm singing,

CHORUS:
Doo, doo, doo, Looking out my back door.
There's a giant doing cartwheels,
A statue wearing high heels.
Look at all the happy creatures dancing on the lawn.
A dinosaur Victrola listening to Buck Owens.

CHORUS

Tambourines and elephants are playing in the band.
Won't you take a ride on the flying spoon?
Doo, doo doo.
Wond'rous apparition provided by magician.

CHORUS

Tambourines and elephants are playing in the band.
Won't you take a ride on the flying spoon?
Doo, doo doo.
Bother me tomorrow, today, I'll buy no sorrows.

CHORUS

Forward troubles Illinois, lock the front door, oh boy!
Look at all the happy creatures dancing on the lawn.
Bother me tomorrow, today, I'll buy no sorrows.

CHORUS

Looks like fun. Friendly animals are a cheerful sight.

That's funny! I just heard this song the other day! And now here it is again. Seems like I hadn't heard it in years until now.

Emily, yes, Fiona is on the porch. In the first picture, she was way out front by a pear tree. Too bad I didn't have a real camera handy. Between using my phone and my kitchen window being so dirty, the pics were bad.

I hadn't heard it in a long while either, Eliza. The funny thing is, I like it more now than when I was young. I think being a mom has helped me appreciate it in a different way.

You are truly blessed... I would LOVE to like on a farm like that! But, that is not for me at this time. Maybe someday I can move back to the midwest, out in the country. Sounds heavenly!
