Did he study in Paris? Did he show incredible talent at a young age? Did he suffer poverty while waiting to be discovered?
These were the kinds of questions I had about Julio Marsella. He was one of the jewelry designers that I learned a little bit about in my recent costume jewelry study. His delicately beautiful necklace and earrings set made from pink Mayorka glass is one of my favorites. It is featured on page 297 of Collecting Costume Jewelry 101.
An article by Cheri Van Hoover answered most of my questions. It is full of juicy details like this: Mr. Marsella possessed a great tenor voice and played opera music in his shop in Providence, RI. Read it all HERE.
